The Daughters of the American Revolution have a public database of Revolutionary Era Ancestors, which includes the names of any patriot accepted as the source for a DAR member. If you locate one of your ancestors in this system you need to contact a state or local DAR chapter in order to learn what descendants of that patriot have already been documented in the DAR archive. If you apply for DAR membership you will need to provide source records leading to your closest ancestor who is already approved as a member.
